Company leader, John Coleman, is an industry leader with a wealth of experience in all aspects of service, sales and installation. As well as cinema projection equipment, John is an expert consultant in all aspects of live theatre, from your local community hall to the complex requirements of the modern entertainment venue. His many years experience in the design, manufacture and installation of curtains and track, lighting and audio systems and controls allow us to provide you with the most efficient and cost effective solutions to your cinema and live theatre requirements.

Our Live Theatre Department team is highly experienced in the fit-out and maintenance of performance spaces in educational institutions including the latest in performance and effects lighting including moving heads and DMX control. Our team can provide expert advice on the latest audio and audio visual equipment, curtain and track requirements and portable staging systems. A principal focus currently is assisting our many clients with their radio microphone needs as the spectrum re-allocation process proceeds.

Australian Theatre Supplies has a busy curtain manufacturing department able to attend to your curtain needs in a timely and cost effective manner. Our service includes everything from assistance in the selection of the most appropriate and durable fabric and colour advice through to manufacture and installation.

Since its establishment in 2006, Australian Theatre Supplies has grown rapidly, supported by our enthusiastic and dedicated staff who can boast a combined 166 years of experience in the entertainment industry. We are proud to be supported by our many industry partners including NEC, GDC, Ultra Stereo, Harkness Screens, Ballantyne/Strong and Pennywise. With their support and our experience we will be happy to be at your service. Dendy Coorparoo

This is a new complex for Dendy Cinemas consisting of 10 screens including 2 Premium Lounges.  Equipment installed at this site includes NEC projectors (NC3240, NC1201L, NC1000C), GDC servers, Krix speakers, Harkness screens and Wall Curtains manufactured by Australian Theatre Supplies.

Townsville Choral Society

Install a Front of House curtain being blue wool with 50% pleating on Heavy Duty track and cord drawn. A black wool Valance with 50% pleating. Black wool curtains on Medium Duty track and cord drawn.  A motorised screen was also installed.  Curtains manufactured by Australian Theatre Supplied and screen supplied by Screen Technics

Griffith University, Nathan Campus, Immersive Lab.

Supply and install 5 chromakey, molton curtains and 2 black, molton curtains on heavy duty track in the Immersive Lab.  Curtains manufactured by Australian Theatre Supplies Pty Ltd

Bribie Island Cinemas

As part of the total refurbishment of Cinema 1 we installed Black wool, side wall curtains with 80% pleating and a bigger min. perf. screen.  Screen supplied by Harkenss Screens and curtains manufactured by Australian Theatre Supplies.

Dendy Canberra, Canberra Centre

Supply and install equipment for an additional six cinemas for complex’s recent revamp. Equipment included – Harkness screens, NEC projectors, Krix speakers and Australian Theatre Supplies wall curtains.

The existing series 1 digital projectors have been replaced  with (1 x NC1700 and 3 x 1201L) NEC laser projectors.  The latest GDC SR1000 servers have also been installed.
