Company leader, John Coleman, is an industry leader with a wealth of experience in all aspects of service, sales and installation. As well as cinema projection equipment, John is an expert consultant in all aspects of live theatre, from your local community hall to the complex requirements of the modern entertainment venue. His many years experience in the design, manufacture and installation of curtains and track, lighting and audio systems and controls allow us to provide you with the most efficient and cost effective solutions to your cinema and live theatre requirements.
Our Live Theatre Department team is highly experienced in the fit-out and maintenance of performance spaces in educational institutions including the latest in performance and effects lighting including moving heads and DMX control. Our team can provide expert advice on the latest audio and audio visual equipment, curtain and track requirements and portable staging systems.
Australian Theatre Supplies has a busy curtain manufacturing department able to attend to your curtain needs in a timely and cost effective manner. Our service includes everything from assistance in the selection of the most appropriate and durable fabric and colour advice through to manufacture and installation.
Since its establishment in 2006, Australian Theatre Supplies has grown rapidly, supported by our enthusiastic and dedicated staff who can boast a combined 166 years of experience in the entertainment industry. We are proud to be supported by our many industry partners including NEC, GDC, , Harkness Screens, QSC, Harman Cinema Equipment and Pennywise. With their support and our experience we will be happy to be at your service. Our service division is available 24hours a day for technical support by remote access, telephone communication or where necessary, in person.

Majestic Cinemas, Wynnum
A new site. 6 screens, 4 standard and 2 lounge cinemas. The install included NEC Laser Projectors, GDC Media Servers, Harkness Screens, Krix Speakers and a Trinnov Sound Processor

Dalveen Sports Club
More curtains supplied and installed for the movies at Dalveen. This time 3 window curtains (50% pleat, fire retarded) on Light Duty Track.
A Front Of House Curtain and Valance has also been installed. The Front Of House Curtain is Black Wool, 50% Pleat on Heavy Duty Track

Bribie Twin Theatre
Bribie Island Cinemas has gone outdoors for the Christmas/New Year period 2020. Using a NEC NC1000 projector and a Harkness screen movies are now being shown in the carpark. Check out the photos in our gallery.

Limelight Cinemas, Canberra
Lounge Cinemas are proving popular. One standard cinema has been converted into a Lounge Cinema. We installed an NEC Laser Projector to suit the cinema size.

The Strand Cinema, Caloundra
A new look for the Cinemas in Caloundra. Cinema 1 has new sidewall Curtains and Harkness Screen. The projector has been upgraded to a Espedeo Supra 5000laser projector. Cinema 2’s projector has been upgraded to a NEC NC1201L. Stage & Surround Speakers have also been replaced. A new Harkness Screen also installed. Stage and Surround Speakers plus Harkness Screen have gone into Cinema 3 and 4.
Cinema 5 will be coming on line soon with new screen, speakers, curtains and Espedeo Supra 5000 laser projector.

Royal Theatre, Winton, Queensland
The digital age has come to Winton! An NEC NC1600 digital projector, donated by Australian Theatre supplies, has been installed. A new Perlux 140mm perf screen, donated by Harkness Screens, has also been installed. Check out the photos in our gallery.

Fortitude Music Hall
Supply and install curtains and track. Curtains supplied included black wool, rear stage curtain and black velvet curtains for sectioning purposes. The red velvet curtain in JC’s bar were also manufactured by Australian Theatre Supplies
